NC DHHS Antibiotic Stewardship Resources

March 17, 2026 by Jennifer Hubbard

Stopping the spread of difficult infections together

Drug-resistant infections are a growing problem in NC, but we can all help stop them.

The NCDHHS Healthcare-Associated Infection Team works with health care providers, patients and communities to make sure antibiotics and other medicines are used safely and effectively. Using the right drug, in the right amount, for the right length of time helps protect everyone from infections that no longer respond to treatment.

Learn how you can help prevent antibiotic resistance and find tools, education and projects that support safer care across our state.
