Sample Agenda

Location: The Friday Conference Center at UNC Chapel Hill

Intended for infection preventionists in acute care settings, this 4-day course will allow participants to broaden their knowledge of sterilization, disinfection, antibiotic utilization, infections in high-risk groups, and epidemics, as well as their understanding of the interface between hospital, ambulatory care, and community health settings and infection control. Infection Control Part I is not a prerequisite for this course.

Cost: $665 in-state, $720 out-of-state. Payment by Credit Card Only. No Exceptions.

NOTE: Successful completion of BOTH “Infection Control Part I: Clinical Surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections” and “Infection Control Part II: The Infection Preventionist as an Environmentalist” meet the training requirements of the NC Infection Control rule 10A NCAC 41A.0206.

Continuing Education: 23.5 Contact Hours

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
